We are humans. We are created as Ashraf-ul- makhluqat (the best creatures). Then, we are blessed to be Muslims by birth. What is the purpose of our creation? What is the purpose of our coming to this world? Almighty ALLAH says in Quran:

“Wa maa khalaqtul-jinna wal-‘insa ‘illa liya’-buduun.” Quran Chapter 51  Ayah 56.

“I created the Jinn and humankind only to worship Me”

This verse clarifies our purpose of coming to this world that is the worship of only one ALLAH. Today, every individual is earning money like a machine but we have forgotten that one day we will be asked about our deeds. There are so many groups even in the Muslim society. People called themselves as Shia, suuni, baralvi etc. instead of calling Muslims. People are not Pakistani now, rather they are Punjabi, Sindhi, Pukhtoon and Bloch etc. This has given birth to a society with so many problems. How to overcome all these problems and represent our society as a successful society? Definitely, the answer is to follow Islamic principles.

By following the given points, we can change our society into a successful society.

Keys/Points:

  1. Follow Islamic Principles:

State of Medina Sharif can be regarded as a successful society. It serves as a model and ideal for us. We can make our society successful by following the guidance of our Holy Prophet (S.A.W). After migration to Medina Sharif, Prophet (S.A.W) creates a good example of brotherhood among Ansari Medina and Muhajirin (immigrants). In His (S.A.W) farewell sermon, Prophet (S.A.W) clarified that there is no preference on the basis of cast, color or creed. This sermon gives equal rights to each member of the society and gives the complete code of life. This sermon guides us in every walk of life. If we follow only this sermon, we can covert our society into a great society and can show it as an example to the world where people will enjoy their lives.

Western societies had proved today that Islam gives the message of peace and love. They are following our Islamic rules in their social life and we are still looking at them to guide us. In an Islamic society, nobody will hurt the other person. Thus, we can say that Islam is a key to a successful society.

  1. Promote education:

Success of people and societies lies in education. Education is a powerful weapon which can change the society and even the whole world. Education opens up paths for development. Education gives birth to different new technologies and opportunities. For a country or society to be successful, it must have a powerful and well-developed education system. If we look at developed countries they are developed because of their education system. Today we are unaware of our religion, again because of our education system. It is based on cramming and bookish knowledge. People have degrees and high grades but they do not know how to live. I have seen many people having Ph.D. degrees but they have no idea of how to deal and interact with the people. If our dream is of a successful society, then we have to change this conservative education system. In the new education system, every individual should be given right to get education. In our new education system, we should offered every type of education so, that every individual can get education according to his/her own talents and skills.

  1. Equality:

In a successful society, everyone is equal with equal duties/responsibilities and opportunities. Almighty ALLAH has created all the human beings equal. Many of us believe that equality is when women can go outside their homes for jobs, business etc. like men. Partly right, but Almighty ALLAH has created each individual with specific duties. If a woman is doing her job, she will be financially strong and independent but this will be burden on her as she is already doing her duty at home.

Let’s compare, if a woman go outside for job, business etc. and also do her duty at home but on the other side man is doing his job but have no duties at home. Is this equality? Is this justice? No, equality means that they should be given the right to take their decision by their selves. If she is willing to do the job it is good, otherwise it will be injustice.

The other inequality grows up when the rich becomes richest and poor becomes poorest day by day. Here, we respect money not people. People from every category should be respected. If we apply our Islamic rules of equality on our society, then it will become a great society. Where men and women, rich and poor, Shia and Sunni, all will be equal and happy.

  1. Accept that individual differences do exist:

Every individual has his/her own mentality. Every person thinks differently. Every person has his/her own mind setup. Here, everyone support his/her own views and wants to suppress other people opinions.

Everyone consider his/her right and is not ready to accept the other people.

If a person is doing something bad, he/she should not be neglected because he/she needs more attention. We should accept him/her and should try to solve his/her problem instead of to neglect him/her.

When we accept this one thing, that differences exist among the people that will be the foundation day of our successful society.

  1. Start from yourself:

Everyone is responsible for his/herself. Everyone has to start from him/her. Do not expect something great from other people until you start it by yourself.

Just imagine, if a teacher comes to the class thirty minutes late and starts lecture on punctuality. The student sitting in front of that teacher will not capture that lecture of punctuality until and unless the teacher itself changes his/herself. Change starts from you. First change yourself, your thinking, people will change automatically.

If we want to change our society, first of all we have to change ourselves.

  1. Empowerment:

Each individual in a society needs to be empowered. Empowered individuals can do a lot confidently. If every individual is empowered and financially strong, there will be no more poverty. If there is no poverty, there will be no more fighting and no discrimination among the people on the basis of money. As a result, a successful society will be formed.

  1. Awareness and Motivation:

Lack of awareness and confidence is a hurdle in the development and success of the society. No one can achieve his/her goals if he/she has no confidence.

Every individual is created with so many abilities and talents but most people are unaware of their hidden talent. They need awareness, motivation and encouragement. These are the most important things for a society to be successful. Without proper platform and awareness, even talented people cannot do anything. I can take my own example. From my childhood, I have a dream of becoming a motivational speaker to bring positive change in my society by motivating the people. But without a proper platform, I cannot do that. When I joined CATD (Centre for Awareness Training and Development), I felt that now I can share my views and today I am able to convey my message to the world.

Government should arrange seminars and workshops on awareness to motivate the people to utilize their inner qualities. And the responsibility of we people is to work with honesty and follow our Islamic rules. Let’s lay the foundation of our successful society. Everyone have to start from him/her to form a successful society.
